21st Screen Actors Guild Award Winners in 2015

The 21st annual Screen Actors Guild Award ceremony, which took place in Southern California, honored the best screenplay actors and actresses of 2014.

The main winner of the night was Debbie Reynolds, walking away with the prestigious Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award—an achievement bestowed upon a performer who “[fosters] the finest ideals of the acting profession.” She had been an award-winning actress, singer and dancer for approximately 64 years and gained notoriety for her role in the infamous 1950 musical Singin’ in the Rain. Reynolds hasn’t stopped acting and appeared in recent television shows, movies and Broadway plays.

  • Eddie Redmayne (as Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything”) for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role.
  • Julianne Moore (as Dr. Alice Howland in “Still Alice”) for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.
  • J.K. Simmons (as Terence Fletcher in “Whiplash”) for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.
  • Patricia Arquette (as Olivia Evans in “Boyhood”) for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role.
  • Kevin Spacey (as Francis Underwood in Netflix’s “House of Cards”) for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series.
  • Viola Davis (as Annalise Keating in “How to Get Away With Murder”) for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.
  • William H. Macy (as Frank Gallagher in “Shameless”) for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series.
  • Uzo Aduba (as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren) for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.
