May 23, 2016 will forever be associated with the one and only Beyoncé, at least in the state of Minnesota. The governor of the state, Mark Dayton, declared May 23rd as Beyoncé Day in honor of the “Formation” world tour scheduled to stop in Minneapolis.

“Beyoncé has influenced many Minnesota girls and women with the powerful, positive messages in her music,” Dayton said in an official statement, “and her impact and success have been widely-recognized.”

Dayton released a tweet showing a picture of his office’s official declaration.

Beyoncé is earning a lot of attention this year. Perhaps she’ll garner enough to win Person of the Year 2016?
