"Sons of Anarchy" skull poster artwork

The riveting drama “Sons of Anarchy” centers on the character Jackson “Jax” Teller and the motorcycle club where he was VP and President, abbreviated as S.A.M.C.R.O. (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original). The organization involves itself in various legal and illegal enterprises—which includes operating a car repair shop, bribing local politicians and offering protection to the town of Charming, CA. The place is a fictional locale in California’s Central Valley.

Since its premiere in 2008, the television show generates high praise for superb acting and original storylines—featuring themes of betrayal, family conflict, crooked authorities and generational value differences. It’s analogous to other crime dramas such as The GodfatherBreaking Bad or Scarface, in which the audience sympathizes with criminal activities of the protagonist(s). The creator of the broadcast, Kurt Sutter, cites Shakespeare as an influence on the concept. The nomination for a 2010 “Outstanding Achievement in Drama” award bolsters the popular influence of the show among T.V. viewers. Sadly, 2014’s Season 7 represents the culminating finale of this series.
